Fake AI Attacks Spread Across US Companies: How MSSPs Can Stop Incidents Early

Attackers are using fake artificial intelligence (AI) product impersonations to distribute malware, steal browser sessions, and compromise business accounts across US companies. ANY.RUN identified 1,258 public sandbox analyses linked to these fake AI campaigns between April and October 2026. The activity is creating operational challenges for managed security service providers (MSSPs) supporting US organizations, which represented 16% of country-attributed targets.

Why it matters: MSSPs and security teams at US companies face increased detection and response pressure from social engineering attacks disguised as legitimate AI tools; practitioners should establish awareness training and email controls to identify fake AI product impersonations used to harvest credentials.
