Hackers disguise phishing as promising business opportunities

Attackers are sending phishing emails impersonating business prospects and asking for quotations, a tactic that appears authentic to sales and procurement teams. Security research documented a twelvefold rise in such emails between October 2025 and September 2026, with nearly 73 percent directing recipients to credential-harvesting pages designed to compromise business email accounts.

Why it matters: Sales and procurement staff at any organization are at immediate risk from these request for quotation (RFQ) themed attacks, which exploit normal business workflows to steal email credentials and enable account compromise.
