Meta Muse exposes users' personal and business secrets when they share conversations

Meta's Muse artificial intelligence (AI) agent exposes sensitive user information when conversations are shared via web links, according to researchers at Claroc. The platform generates URLs with predictable patterns that allow enumeration of shared links, and researchers successfully discovered 6,800 links and accessed unintended personal and business data. Meta previously characterized Muse as built for privacy and security.

Why it matters: Organizations and individuals using Muse for sensitive discussions face data exposure risk through easily guessable share links; practitioners should audit any Muse-shared content and evaluate whether the AI's sharing mechanisms meet their data protection requirements.
