AI agent permissions are outrunning security

Organizations are granting artificial intelligence (AI) agents autonomous decision-making power at scale, with 70% of IT and security leaders now permitting AI to act without human approval in roles that previously required sign-off. Three-quarters of surveyed organizations have encountered at least one security issue or warning tied to these expanded AI permissions within the past year.

Why it matters: Security and IT leaders need to reassess access controls and monitoring for AI agents, as accelerated autonomy is already creating incidents across their environments.
