Black Kite debuts Quantum Readiness controls to assess post-quantum security across vendor ecosystems
Black Kite released Quantum Readiness controls to evaluate vendors' post-quantum cryptographic preparedness within its Cyber Rating platform. The new SSL/TLS Strength category assesses vendors' quantum agility, including hybrid key exchange adoption and certificate signature readiness, addressing threats like 'harvest now, decrypt later' attacks and regulatory deadlines set by NIST, the U.S. Office of Management and Budget, and the European Union.
Why it matters: Third-party risk managers and procurement teams need visibility into vendor quantum readiness now, since regulatory deadlines (U.S. federal post-quantum key establishment by end of 2030, EU migration by 2030, and NIST deprecation after 2035) are fixed and encrypted data collected today may be decrypted by future quantum computers.
