Fortinet FortiAIGate targets AI security risks with real-time inspection, policy enforcement and agent controls

Fortinet launched FortiGuard Inline artificial intelligence (AI) Security Service and expanded FortiAIGate to deliver AI-specific inspection and policy enforcement through existing FortiGate infrastructure or self-hosted deployment. The service inspects prompts and responses in real time, detects shadow AI usage, enforces data loss prevention policies, and prevents AI-specific attacks and data leaks across interactions with large language models (LLMs) and autonomous agents.

Why it matters: Security teams managing AI deployments need visibility and control over LLM and agent traffic to prevent data exposure and malicious prompts; Fortinet's offering integrates AI security into existing network gateways, reducing deployment complexity compared to standalone tools.
