US Army advances OT cybersecurity with RMC-led effort focused on zero trust and operational continuity

RMC has won an Other Transaction Agreement (OTA) from the U.S. Army to develop a vendor-agnostic, zero trust approach for securing operational technology systems at Army installations, including facility-related control systems. The approximately four-month prototype effort, called Industrial Control Enterprise Defense (ICED-603) Phase 2, will demonstrate how to reduce cyber risk while maintaining operational continuity without forcing replacement of existing infrastructure. RMC will work with subcontractor Concurrent Technologies Corporation to develop reusable remediation patterns, security monitoring capabilities, and Risk Management Framework evidence for potential expansion across other installations.

Why it matters: Army installation operators and OT security teams need to evaluate whether this zero trust approach can secure legacy control systems without disrupting critical facility operations; successful completion may create a scalable model for defending industrial control systems across government infrastructure.
