Trade Associations Lobby Armed Services Leaders on CISA 2015

Trade associations are lobbying for renewal of the Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act of 2015 (CISA 2015) protections and federal funding, both set to expire on December 11 unless Congress takes action. The House-passed defense bill includes a decade-long renewal, but Senator Rand Paul's resistance to a clean renewal could block the language from surviving into the final version.

Why it matters: Security practitioners rely on CISA threat information sharing; expiration of the act removes legal protections for companies participating in information exchanges and eliminates associated federal funding.
