Student Data Breach Affects Up to 16 Icelandic Schools

A security breach in Inna, a student-information system used by Icelandic upper-secondary schools, allowed a student to attempt alterations to other pupils' grades and attendance records. Iceland's Data Protection Authority received three notifications, and schools and the system operator continue investigating the scope of accessed information across up to 16 schools.

Why it matters: School administrators and Iceland's Data Protection Authority must assess the extent of unauthorized access and remediate the vulnerability to prevent further grade or attendance tampering that could affect student records and institutional integrity.
