Harden cooling systems now, feds warn critical infrastructure operators amid attacks

The U.S. government issued guidance Thursday for critical infrastructure operators to strengthen their cooling systems after recent attacks disrupted supermarket operations in Europe. The advisory follows a pattern of targeting industrial cooling infrastructure as an attack vector against essential services.

Why it matters: Operators of refrigeration and cooling systems at supermarkets, hospitals, food distribution centers, and other critical facilities face direct risk from these attacks and should review and harden their cooling system security immediately.
