Ransomware gangs go after EMEA healthcare’s supply chain
A Flare researcher analyzed ransomware leak-site activity targeting healthcare organizations across the EMEA region from 2024 to 2026 and found that ransomware groups are systematically attacking the entire healthcare supply chain, not just hospitals. The attacks extend beyond hospitals and clinics to include telemedicine providers, diagnostic laboratories, pharmacies, and other ecosystem participants. While hospital breaches receive media attention, attacks on peripheral healthcare entities often remain unreported despite comparable damage.
Why it matters: Healthcare supply chain operators and IT leaders across EMEA should assess their ransomware exposure and incident response capabilities, as attackers are targeting smaller, potentially less-defended entities in the ecosystem that could disrupt patient care and data access.
