vulnerabilities
Bendix EC80 Brake ECU
Bendix disclosed three vulnerabilities in its EC80 Brake ECU affecting multiple firmware versions used in commercial vehicles: CVE-2026-67560 (stack-based buffer overflow), CVE-2026-68967 (out-of-bounds write), and CVE-2026-71396 (hard-coded credentials). Successful exploitation could disable anti-lock braking, steering assist, speedometer, transmission shifting, or traction control. Bendix has released firmware updates with different version numbers depending on the affected ECU variant.
Why it matters: Fleet operators and automotive suppliers managing Bendix EC80 Brake ECUs in the United States and Canada must prioritize firmware updates to prevent loss of critical safety functions that could result in loss of vehicle control.
