Critical MikroTik Vulnerability - Patch Now
MikroTik released a patch in late August 2026 for a critical SSH authentication bypass vulnerability that was already under active exploitation. Attackers have been creating persistent accounts on compromised devices to maintain access even after patching. The patch includes detection logic to flag potentially compromised systems.
Why it matters: MikroTik device administrators must patch immediately and assume their systems are compromised if they were exposed during the exploitation window, then verify for unauthorized accounts before and after applying the update.
