Print management outfit PaperCut is under 0-day attack, and it’s drawing customers’ blood
PaperCut disclosed a zero-day vulnerability in its NG and MF print management products after a university security team detected active exploitation. The flaw permits attackers to access deeper network systems through exposed web interfaces, with indicators including altered logs and security tool alerts. The vendor released an emergency patch outside its normal process and recommends customers either apply it or restrict web interface access to trusted internal addresses only.
Why it matters: Organizations running PaperCut print management with internet-exposed web interfaces face immediate network compromise risk and should either apply the emergency patch or take servers offline pending an official fix.
