ThreatLabz released a 2026 report assessing enterprise readiness against autonomous attacks powered by frontier artificial intelligence (AI). Across hundreds of organizations evaluated, the average Frontier AI Readiness Score was 37 out of 100, with critical gaps including exposed virtual private network (VPN) appliances, unpatched known exploited vulnerabilities, and lack of identity-based authentication for AI systems. The report recommends a 90-day sprint focused on enforcement activation, virtual private network (VPN) hardening, encrypted traffic inspection, and segmentation improvements to close attack surface vulnerabilities before AI-driven threats mature.
