Latest Xloader Obfuscation Methods and Network Protocol
Xloader, an information stealer derived from Formbook, has reached version 8.7 with enhanced obfuscation techniques and network protocols designed to evade detection. Starting with version 8.1, the malware implements randomized parameter construction, opaque predicates with bitwise operations, and obfuscated decryption routines to complicate static analysis. The malware employs multiple RC4 encryption layers, decoy command and control servers (65 total addresses with 16 randomly selected per infection), and HTTP traffic masquerading to exfiltrate credentials and execute arbitrary commands including second-stage payload deployment.
