Xen Security Advisory 513 v3 (CVE-2026-79605,CVE-2026-79606) - Out-of-bounds accesses in Tapdisk

Xen published Security Advisory 513 version 3, disclosing out-of-bounds access vulnerabilities in Tapdisk, the userspace implementation of xen-blkback used by the XAPI toolstack. The advisory documents incorrect bounds checks in Tapdisk, now released publicly.

Why it matters: Organizations running Xen hypervisors with XAPI toolstack and Tapdisk are exposed to memory access vulnerabilities (CVE-2026-79605, CVE-2026-79606) that could enable privilege escalation or denial of service; review and patch Tapdisk immediately.
