Companies’ AI strategies don’t account for their agentic tools

Businesses have deployed artificial intelligence (AI) tools with autonomous capabilities, but their governance frameworks have not kept pace with the technology, according to an EY survey. Organizations report taking AI governance seriously, yet their strategies do not adequately address the risks and management needs of agentic AI systems.

Why it matters: Security and compliance practitioners need to assess whether their organizations' AI governance policies actually cover autonomous AI agents in production, not just general AI use cases.
