Colorado Water Utilities Hit by Cyberattacks Targeting OT Systems

Colorado water utilities experienced cyberattacks that disrupted operational technology systems. Attackers modified equipment configurations, deactivated remote monitoring and alarm systems, and changed pumping operations.

Why it matters: Water utility operators and critical infrastructure defenders must assess whether their OT networks have similar exposure to configuration changes and disabled safeguards, and implement compensating controls immediately.
