Even with OT network visibility, critical infrastructure operators struggle with legacy equipment
A Palo Alto Networks survey of over 1,600 security and operations leaders at critical infrastructure organizations found that most operators deploy seven security tools on average yet still lack complete visibility of assets on their operational technology (OT) networks. Legacy equipment that cannot be updated represents the primary visibility challenge for 52 percent of respondents, while 42 percent identify unpatched legacy systems as their most significant cybersecurity concern.
Why it matters: Critical infrastructure operators and security teams need to address blind spots in OT asset visibility and legacy equipment management, as incomplete visibility and unpatched systems compound the risk of operational disruption and compromise.
