Incomplete fix for Emacs CVE-2026-79992

A researcher discovered that the initial patch for CVE-2026-79992 in Emacs did not fully address the vulnerability; the tramp-user-regexp still failed to validate certain problematic characters in usernames, leaving the flaw exploitable. TRAMP maintainer Michael Albinus provided an updated patch that will ship in Emacs 31.2, though that release is not scheduled soon.

Why it matters: Emacs users relying on the previous CVE-2026-79992 fix remain vulnerable until they apply the corrected patch or upgrade to Emacs 31.2, as the incomplete remediation leaves the original attack surface intact.
